Homecoming show in Santa Cruz with Chris Rene, Gina Rene & more

“Gina: I don’t know if everyone knows, but The Love Life Homecoming event for My brother Chris Rene sold out in less than 24 hours!
I’m not surprised really, it’s just crazy how his life has turned around in less than 8 months and now he’s famous and inspiring people all over the world to make positive choices and follow their dreams!
The Homecoming Event is going to be a celebration of Chris’s recent accomplishment in receiving 3rd place on “The X-Factor,” his recent record deal with Epic, the release of his first single Young Homie and lastly, yet most importantly, we will celebrate 8 months of Chris’s sobriety with him.
There will also be some special unnamed guests and possibly some city officials present to congradulate Chris for representing our town in such a positive and healthy way. Chris will play a few songs and some of the special guests will be playing music as well as myself. For those who won’t make it in person to The Love Life Homecoming Event, it will be available as a live streaming video on Ustream via Pay Per View.
A portion of the funds from the event to go to supporting recovery programs at Janus Santa Cruz, the Rehab Chris successfully attended 2011.
Overall, I’m very excited and proud of my brother for the path he’s choosing to live and walk on. I know he’s inspired many poeple already, especially young people. I look forward to more artists like Chris Rene playing on the radio, because he’s setting an example for what else in possible when an artist stands for something both real and positive.”

Looking forward to tomorrow. Just a head’s up. I left a gift for Chris with Jacob Bourne of patch.com. He said he could get it to you to give to Chris. It’s something that I think you and your family would like too. I included a letter too that tells Chris that I too battled addiction in my twenties and that I lost not just my Dad but my Mom too to cancer. They passed Nov. 14 and Dec. 12 of 2008. I too had to apologize for bringing them such heartache before they passed. So I know of the struggles and relate. You can view a photo of my gift to him on the Janus of Santa Cruz Facebook Page. In my letter I also relate the journey of sea glass in the ocean to our own journey as broken human beings when we are in our battle with addiction. The ocean softens the broken jagged glass, I find it on the beach and give it new life as jewelry or in my photography. And it is by the Grace of God that we as broken humans are softened and given new life and a new chance.
I really hope that you guys and Chris get my gift as I think the sea glass will serve as inspiration for him when he has his tough days.

Hi Gina,
I dont think I’ve ever seen a brother and sister with so much love for one another! You two were awesome together! I am so proud of Chris to for as far as he’s come. My son who is also 29 is an addict and 118 days clean today all because of Chris! What an inspiration he’s been. My son looks up to Chris so much! Chris follows me on Twitter and I think it really made my son feel so special. I was hacked into my acct yesterday and someone blocked 5 ppl and one was CHRIS! I started crying! Will you please get a msg to Chris to please re-follow me? I did NOT block him. He’s been the backbone for my son. The rock. I would die if I lost that follow from Chris. I love you two.
